People's Choice Awards

The People's Choice Awards took place on January 7th. I missed it on television, but of course, I wanted to see what the attendees wore. Most of the outfits were just okay, but I think that's because PCA is not as formal as the other award ceremonies. Some of the better outfits are below:

It's crazy how grown up Dakota looks nowadays. She's adorable in this blue dress, and her wedges are cute as well!

Jessica Stroup (I actually don't know where she's from) looks super petite in this bandage dress. I really like the whole strapless-but-not-really thing going on.

Paris's dress is really cute. The appliqued florals give it that girly touch she is known for.

The color of Scarlett's dress is beautiful, but it looks a bit plain. She probably should have added a necklace.

Shawties

I know we're still a ways away, but I can't help but adore and long for these shorts by ChloƩ. They look roomy and comfortable, perfect for that sunny day of running errands, lounging around, or if you're lucky, biking at the beach or enjoying a nice picnic at the park. Wear them with sandals for a casual look like these models, or play them up with heels. Either way, these shorts are still fantastic.

Taking the Bait

We've probably all taken the bait at one point or another. You know, the "Spend $50 and get FREE shipping!" or "Spend $100 and get 20% off!" deals that get you to spend more, but you justify your total by the amount you "saved."

I was browsing the Forever 21 website the other day, and if you've stopped by before, you would know that if you spend $75 or more, you get free shipping. How much is shipping exactly if you don't reach that amount? $5.95.

I really was only after two cardigans that cost $16 each, but with the shipping costs, that would make them $19 each. So, I'm sitting there, searching and adding mediocre items to my cart. Items that I kind of, sort of, somewhat think are nice, but would reconsider actually spending my hard earned money on. On the other hand, if I get free shipping, the prices stated are the prices that I would pay without having to take the shipping fee into account. Then, you know, you might look through all the items again to see if you can find anything better to switch out with some of the items already in your cart.

The other scenario is basically the same. Instead of say, paying $60 for a pair of shoes, you spend $96 for two pairs (if the second pair was the same price, and you get 20% off). The shoes would average out to $48 a pair, but you still ended up spending more, and you might not even like the second pair as much as the first.

So, my question to you is, how often do you find yourself in this situation and was the bait worth taking?
P.S. My items are still sitting in the cart where I left them a few days ago. Happy shopping!
P.P.S. I got sick last night and am really tired of having to blow my nose and wash my hands every five minutes.

Good Start

Best New Year ever. Thursday night was insanely fun, not to mention incredibly crowded, super sweaty, and eventually painful (I shall go into the details). We first went to CPK for dinner, where the service was absolutely horrible. It took them forever just to get our drinks, most of which were water (hello, not hard), and they did not even bring us bread until we asked for it, which arrived after our main dishes. Just... horrible. We were so ravenous at that point that every plate was wiped clean in fifteen minutes. I have never had trouble with CPK before, so I don't know what the deal was with this place.

Anyways, we then headed over to TigerHeat, a gay club in Hollywood (no, I am not gay, just in case you were wondering, but one of my friends that went with us is). It was packed, and the music was amazing. We might as well have said we poured buckets of water on ourselves by the way we were sweating. As you might have guessed, the pain factor was caused by my wedges. My other friend was wearing heels, and she was hurting so badly that she couldn't make it back to the car. Fortunately, our friends were kind enough to bring the car around to take us home.

I apologize for the quality and size of the pictures. My camera failed me (damn rechargeable batteries that did not charge), and so I have to rely on my friend's photos instead. I also regret not getting a complete outfit shot, but I suppose these will have to do.

Midnight

New year, new look (sort of, anyways). Have fun and be safe tonight! As for me, I won't be going to a club until tomorrow night. Possible outfit post? Maybe. It'll actually be my first one. Stay glamorous, and I'll see you in 2009!

Party Like It's 2009

Some of you guys may have plans to bring in the new year, but what are you going to wear?! If you can't get these in time for tomorrow night's outing, there's bound to be events you can wear these lovelies to in 2009.

And for those who want to welcome the new year with a little extra bang:

My plans are still a bit uncertain. Have to convince the 'rents a bit (I know, what a dragggg), but it's my friend's birthday tomorrow as well, and we are supposed to go clubbing. Let's see how that goes...

P.S. I found these dresses on Polyvore. Most and others can be found on goddiva.co.uk and zelab.co.uk.

Give Me Some Sugar

Although many of us are enjoying our Winter Break away from school, if we are not spending each day hanging out with friends, going to the movies, ice skating, singing our hearts out at karaoke bars, etc., it can get, well, a little boring. Well, do I have a remedy for you. I just discovered this site called CollegeCandy.com, and I have literally spent all day clicking from one link to the next to the next. It is written by college students and covers topics such as style, celebrity gossip, news stories, beauty, personal experiences, and much more. No plans? Well, maybe College Candy will be it for today... and tomorrow... and the day after that...
